View of rear of home (before) - ever a home that needs some love on the hill. A Pre-Civil War home that fell victim of the aluminum clad siding/ awning decor.
Demo begins.

This machine was made for this space.
Excavating the backyard for the addition.
Old bottles found in the big dig.
This was our favorite find - an old horse shoe - which we are fairly certain belonged to George Washington's white horse.
The good news is that this machine got us down the first three feet. .
The bad news is we need to go down ten feet. .
So the big dig begins shovel by shovel - ten days of straight digging.
Finally we are able to get down to footer depth. .
Shoring up against neighboring property..
