There are plenty of options to tear down and build new, but we're interested in preserving the heritage of old structures. At the Country Club Hills Residence we aimed to make a modern house out of old bones with a total renovation. Our largest design challenge was blending into the existing neighborhood while setting a style standard that could move into the future. Our solution involved reclaimed materials and matching materiality to the original construction. We incorporated a modern touch with black steel glazing that opens up the home, as well as double height spaces and vaulting.
